January 2, 2010, was the last full day of birding that we had at Canopy Tower. We left the Tower early in the morning to head to the Parque Natural Metropolitano (Metropolitan Park). Temperatures were in the low 80's on this partly cloudy, humid morning. This is a photograph of a female White-winged Tanager. The female of this species has a yellowish color and bold wing-bars.
