After breakfast on December 28, 2009, we birded Semaphore Hill, the one mile road connecting Canopy Tower with the main highway. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this partly cloudy, humid morning. Brad photographed this White Hawk as it flew overhead. The broad rounded wings, short tail and location of black markings are keys to identifying this species. We'd only seen this species perched in trees "way off in the distance" for scope views so it was nice to get a closer look.
