After birding "Carmen's yard" late in the afternoon on December 28, 2009, we drove to Ammo Dump Ponds. We photographed the Yellow-bellied Elaenia as it perched in a tree. This photograph shows the bird's distinct, upstanding, bifurcated crest. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this cloudy afternoon with intermittent rain.
