We spent the later part of the afternoon of Sunday, January 15, 2012, birding along Yapara Creek, a tributary of the Amazon River located below the main confluence of the Ucayali-Marañón Rivers. I took this photo of half of our Amazon group that was birding from a second skiff with Steve Hilty (VENT guide). The Cecropia trees and lush vegetation siding the creek provided cover for many different species of birds. The skiffs used by the Aquamarina were excellent for birding and taking pictures because they allowed us to walk back and forth without worrying about tipping the skiff. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 80's with partly cloudy skies and high humidity.
