We birded down river from the city of Requena along Supay Creek the morning of Tuesday, January 17, 2012. I photographed an Amazonian Antshrike, Thamnophilus amazonicus, that was perched in a seasonally flooded forest. The male has gray plumage, white barred black wings, and a black cap and iris. The black tail is tipped in white and has white markings along its base. Temperatures were in the mid-80's with overcast skies and high humidity.
