The morning of Thursday, January 19, 2012, we birded along Yanallpa Creek, the narrowest and smallest creek that we traversed during our Amazon journey. This photograph shows a female Amazonian Umbrellabird (Cephalopterus ornatus), a large black cotinga with a heavy bill, pale iris, and crest. Temperatures were in the low 80's with clear skies and high humidity.
