We were up and birding bright and early along Yanallpa Creek the morning of Thursday, January 19, 2012. Yanallpa was the narrowest and smallest creek that we traversed and provided us with good birding opportunities. A dorsal view of a Black-banded Woodcreeper, Dendrocolaptes picumnus, is shown here. This large Woodcreeper has a long straight bill, a streaked breast, and a barred belly. Temperatures were in the upper 60's with partly cloudy skies.
