We were birding along Sapote Creek the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012, when we photographed a Black-collared Hawk, Busarellus nigricollis. This adult is rufous with a white head, black collar, and a short tail. Temperatures were in the upper 60's with overcast skies.
