We spent the morning of Monday, January 16, 2012, birding along Yarapa Creek, a tributary of the Amazon (South Bank). I photographed this pair of Black-fronted Nunbirds, Monasa nigrifrons, while we motored by their perch. The adult's blackish head and slate-gray body are highlighted by a bright coral-red bill. Temperatures were in the upper 70's with hazy skies and high humidity.
