We were up and birding early the morning of Monday, January 16, 2012, along Yarapa Creek, a tributary of the Amazon (South Bank). The Black-tailed Tityra, Tityra cayana, was one of the first birds that we saw. The male is all white with black wings and tail. The black on its head reaches to the rear crown. The black tipped bill is red as is the orbital skin. Temperatures were in the upper 70's with hazy skies and high humidity.
