We were on a pseudo-pelagic trip that departed from Pucusana the afternoon of Friday, January 13, 2012, and took us around some of the rocky islands in the bay and Pacific Ocean to bird. Brad photographed a Blackish-Oystercatcher, Haematopus ater, to show the bird's features: blackish plumage, reddish-orange bill, and pinkish legs and feet. It exhibits rapid direct flight with shallow wing beats. Temperatures were in the mid-80's with sunny skies and high humidity.
