We were up and birding early the morning of Monday, January 16, 2012, along Yarapa Creek, a tributary of the Amazon (South Bank). The Buff-throated Woodcreeper, Xiphorhynchus guttatus, was one of the birds that we saw. It is recognized by its large size, rufescent color, large bill, and buff colored throat. Temperatures were in the upper 70's with hazy skies and high humidity.
