We birded along Sapote Creek the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012, until lunchtime. A Capped Heron, Pilherodius pileatus, was just taking flight when Brad took its photo. The blue face and bill base, black cap, light buff-colored wash extending down its front are complemented by the rest of its whitish body. Temperatures were in the low 80's with partly cloudy skies.
