The Aquamarina moved upriver after lunch on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, and relocated to a point about thirty minutes above the city of Reuqena. We didn't go out birding until late in the afternoon because of heavy rain. Once out, we explored Fosec Creek and ended the day with a long boat ride along a river island to look for Red-bellied Macaws. I photographed a male Caqueta Seedeater, Sporophila murallae, showing its black and white plumage and white throat and neck collar. Temperatures were in the upper 80's with overcast skies, high humidity, and intermittent light rain.
