We spent the morning of Monday, January 16, 2012, birding along Yarapa Creek, a tributary of the Amazon (South Bank). Brad photographed a Cinnamon-throated Woodcreeper (Dendrexetastes rufigula) that was foraging on an exposed tree trunk. Upperparts are a tawny-buff color with a cinnamon-buff throat. Short narrow white streaks are visible on the breast. The iris is rufous, and the bill is grayish. The Cinnamon-throated is a distinctive Amazonian woodcreeper. Temperatures were in the mid-80's on this humid morning with hazy skies and high humidity.
