Lunch on Monday, January 16, 2012, was followed by a siesta until mid-afternoon when we set out on a birding expedition along Carocurahuayter Creek, a small north bank tributary of the Ucayali. Brad photographed a Cobalt-winged Parakeet, Brotogeris cyanoptera, that was perched out in the open showing its green underparts. The wing coverts and remiges are blue. Temperatures were in the low 90's with partly cloudy skies and high humidity.
