We birded down river from the city of Requena along Supay Creek the morning of Tuesday, January 17, 2012. This pair of Cobalt-winged Parakeets, Brotogeris cyanoptera, was busy preening themselves. The wing coverts and remiges on this green plumaged bird are blue. Temperatures were in the upper 70's with overcast skies and high humidity.
