We spent the morning of Sunday, January 15, 2012, birding along a small tributary (Tapara Creek) of the Amazon below the main confluence of the Ucayali-Marañón Rivers. Brad took a sideview of a Drab Water Tyrant, Ochthornis littoralis, as our skiff came within shooting distance of its perch. A pale grayish nape, back, and underparts along with slightly darker wings, cap, and tail are visible here. This species also has a prominent white supercilium that extends from the upper bill, black legs, and a broad black bill. Temperatures were in the mid-80's on this humid morning with overcast skies.
