We spent the morning of Monday, January 16, 2012, birding along Yarapa Creek, a tributary of the Amazon (South Bank). I took a photo of a flowering Morning Glory that was interspersed among the shoreline vegetation. Morning glory is the common name for over 1,000 species of plants in the Convolvulaceae family. The taxonomy and systematics of this family are in flux, so it is difficult to pinpoint the correct genus (at least ten) and species (?). Temperatures were in the upper 70's with hazy skies and high humidity.
