Brad and I were onboard the Aquamarina (waiting for the ship to depart) late in the afternoon on January 14, 2012, when we saw this Large-billed Tern, Phaetusa simplex, fly overhead. It is a large tern with a heavy yellow bill and yellow legs. In alternate plumage, the adult has a solid black crown. Temperatures were in the low 70's with intermittent rain.
