We birded along Sapote Creek the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012, until lunchtime. A Lesser Kiskadee, Pitngus lictor, was perched amid a tangle of branches along the water's edge. The species is typically associated with water. It is similar in coloration to a Great Kiskadee but is smaller and more slender. The bill is narrower, and rufous-colored edging is present on wing edges. Temperatures were in the low 80's with partly cloudy skies.
