We spent the morning of Monday, January 16, 2012, birding along Yarapa Creek, a tributary of the Amazon (South Bank). Brad photographed a Lettered Aracari (Pteroflossus inscriptus) that was perched behind some leaves in a river-edge forest. Underparts are yellow with a brownish smudge on the belly. Distinctive dark 'lettering' along the cutting edge of the maxilla give this species its name. Temperatures were in the mid-80's on this humid morning with hazy skies and high humidity.
