This Many-colored Rush Tyrant, Tachuris rubrigastra, cooperated by perching at the edge of a reed bed to allow us good looks at it. The superciliary and wing patch on this juvenile are white. Underparts have a yellow wash on them. The undertail coverts are tinged with red. The bird's upperparts look black in the photo. We were birding the Refugio de Vida Silvestre-Pantanos de Villa Marshes the morning of Friday, January 13, 2012. Our final destination for the day was the fishing village of Pucusana which is located 60 km south of Lima in southern Lima Province. Temperatures were in the low 80's with partly cloudy skies and high humidity (typical for the area).
