An adult Many-colored Rush Tyrant, Tachuris rubrigastra, cooperated by perching at the edge of a reed bed to allow us good looks at it. A large white wing patch is present. Underparts have a yellow wash on them, and an incomplete black band separates the breast and chest. The undertail coverts are tinged with a salmon color. Yellow supercilia separate the black cap from the bird's bluish-black facial mask. The nape and back will eventually turn green. We were birding the Refugio de Vida Silvestre-Pantanos de Villa Marshes the morning of Friday, January 13, 2012. Temperatures were in the low 80's with partly cloudy skies and high humidity.
