After lunch and a siesta on Thursday, January 19, 2012, Brad and I opted to go out for more birding with Steve, our VENT guide, and a local guide along with 6 others from the group. The rest of the group either went on a fishing trip or visited a native community. I was hoping that these clouds weren't indicative of getting drenched by another thunderstorm...fortunately they weren't. We were on a skiff someplace near the Rio Maraņon and the Ucayali, when I decided to photograph the cloud cover. Temperatures were in the upper 80's with high humidity.
