We were birding along Sapote Creek the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012, when we photographed an Orange-fronted Plushcrown, Metopohrix aurantiaca, perched in the canopy of a river-edge forest. This Amazonian ovenbird has orange colored tarsi (see photo). The adult has olive-greenish plumage with yellow on the forecrown and throat. Temperatures were in the mid-70's with partly cloudy skies.
