We birded in Pucusana, a fishing village located 60 Kilometers south of Lima on the western coast of Peru bordering the Pacific Ocean, the afternoon of Friday, January 13, 2012. Brad photographed a Peruvian Pelican, Pelecanus thagus, as it flew overhead. Our group took a path from near Pucusana's fishing port that led to a cliff area overlooking the ocean. From this vantage point we could look down at roosting birds and the Pacific Ocean. Temperatures were in the mid-80's with bright, sunny skies and high humidity.
