We spent the morning of Monday, January 16, 2012, birding along Yarapa Creek, a tributary of the Amazon (South Bank). I photographed a Plumbeous Antbird, Myrmeciza hyperythra, that was perched deep in understory foliage. This is a large, plump antbird with prominent light blue skin surrounding the eye. Males are grayish and have white spotted wing coverts. Temperatures were in the upper 70's with hazy skies and high humidity.
