We birded along Sapote Creek the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012. During our morning break aboard the Aquamarina, Brad and I looked for birds near a reedy area where the ship was moored and ended up photographing several species of seedeaters. Female Sporohila (and juveniles) are difficult to identify. This might be a female Lesson's Seedeater, Sporohila bouvronides, a LBJ...little brown job. Temperatures were in the low 80's with partly cloudy skies.
