Lunch on Monday, January 16, 2012, was followed by a siesta until mid-afternoon when we set out on a birding expedition along Carocurahuayter Creek, a small north bank tributary of the Ucayali. We were heading back to our ship, the Aquamarina, when I took this photo showing the buildup of thunderheads and a rainbow embedded in the clouds. Temperatures were in the upper 80's with partly cloudy skies.
