We spent the later part of the afternoon of Sunday, January 15, 2012, birding along Yapara Creek, a tributary of the Amazon River located below the main confluence of the Ucayali-Marañón Rivers. Brad photographed a White-headed Marsh Tyrant, Arundinicola leucocephala, that was perched in the river-edge vegetation. The female has a brownish-gray colored crown and upperparts. Underparts are a grayish-white as is the face and forecrown. The iris and legs are black. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 80's with partly cloudy skies and high humidity.
