We spent the later part of the afternoon of Sunday, January 15, 2012, birding along Yapara Creek, a tributary of the Amazon River located below the main confluence of the Ucayali-Marañón Rivers. Brad photographed a White-headed Marsh Tyrant, Arundinicola leucocephala, that was perched in the river-edge vegetation. The female has a brownish-gray colored crown and upperparts. Underparts are a grayish-white as is the face and forecrown. The iris and legs along with the wings and tail are blackish. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 80's with partly cloudy skies and high humidity.
