The Aquamarina moved upriver after lunch on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, and relocated to a point about thirty minutes above the city of Reuqena. We didn't go out birding until late in the afternoon because of heavy rain. Once out, we explored Fosec Creek and ended the day with a long boat ride along a river island to look for Red-bellied Macaws. I took a closeup shot of a White-winged Swallow, Tachycineta albiventer, to show its white underparts and rump along with its iridescent blue-green upperparts. A white wing patch on the folded wings is diagnostic. Temperatures were in the upper 80's with overcast skies, high humidity, and intermittent light rain.
