Brad and I birded El Olivar Grove Park the morning of January 7, 2012. The park was declared a National Monument in 1959 to protect the centuries-old olive trees that grow there. Easy access to the park from our hotel, the Sonesta Hotel El Olivar (located in the municipality of San Isidro - Lima, Peru), facilitated birding there and provided good looks at some local bird species. This sign requests that you clean up after your pets...to help maintain the cleanliness of the park. Temperatures were in the mid-80's on this hot and humid morning.
