I took this photograph of a Chestnut-breasted Coronet, Boissonneaua matthewsii, the morning of Wednesday, January 11, 2012, while we were birding the grounds of our hotel, the Inkaterra Hotel Machu Picchu Pueblo, in Aguas Caliente. We were in the courtyard area of our hotel when this hummer with its green upperparts and head and chestnut breast flew in to roost affording us excellent views of the species. It was a humid, sunny morning with temperatures in the upper 70's.
