I took this photograph of a pair of Chestnut-breasted Coronets, Boissonneaua matthewsii, the morning of Wednesday, January 11, 2012, while we were birding the grounds of our hotel, the Inkaterra Hotel Machu Picchu Pueblo, in Aguas Caliente. We were in the courtyard area of the hotel when these hummers with their green upperparts and heads and chestnut-colored breasts flew in to roost affording us excellent views of the species. It was a humid, sunny morning with temperatures in the upper 70's.
