After a leisurely breakfast at our hotel, the Sonesta Hotel El Olivar located in the municipality of San Isidro (Lima, Peru), Joanne and I headed across the street to bird El Olivar Park. We couldn't resist photographing this couple's romantic interlude beneath the trunk of an old olive tree. The park had a mix of people ranging from the very young to the elderly...all enjoying the warm weather and a place to relax. In addition to young lovers, the park has approximately thirty species of birds including Saffron Finch, Blue-gray Tanager, Blue-black Grassquit, Shiny Cowbird, and Amazilia Hummingbird to name just a few. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this hot and humid morning.
