After a leisurely breakfast at our hotel, the Sonesta Hotel El Olivar located in the municipality of San Isidro (Lima, Peru), Joanne and I headed across the street to bird El Olivar Park. I took this picture of a Palm Tanager, Thraupis palmarum, as it perched on a branch above us. Depending on the lighting conditions, body color can vary from olive to purplish. The wings are noticeably two-toned in color. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this hot and humid morning.
