We flew from Cuzco to Lima the morning of Thursday, January 12, 2012. After a leisurely lunch at our hotel, the Sonesta Hotel El Olivar located in the municipality of San Isidro (Lima, Peru), Brad and I headed across the street to bird El Olivar Park. San Isidro is known as the garden district of Lima and is a lovely (safe) area to visit and bird. So when a local resident that we met in the park suggested that we walk to a nearby outdoor sculpture garden, we made that our last stop of the day. Some of the works (polished black granite) by Marina Nuņez del Prado (1910-1995) that are on display in the outdoor section of her El Jardin de Esculturas are shown here. She wanted her work to be visible to the public and didn't want the size of her works to be limited by room size....hence the outdoor sculpture garden. The indoor part of the museum has eight interior rooms.
