This is a photograph of the welcoming plaque on the Island of St. Kilda, a Natural and Cultural World Heritage Site. This volcanic archipelago lies forty-one miles west of the Outer Hebrides and is the remotest part of the British Isles. It was a partly cloudy day with temperatures in the 60's.
