This is a photograph of Joanne standing next to one of the Megaliths found in the ring known as the Stones of Stenness. This henge monument lies on the western side of Mainland Orkney on the south-eastern shore of the Stenness Loch. The monument consists of megaliths, four out of twelve which are standing today. The megaliths stand at a maximum height of six meters and were originally placed in the shape of an ellipse sometime between 3000 BC and 2500 BC and are a part of the Orkney's Neolithic heartland. Temperatures were in the mid-60's on this sunny to partly cloudy day.
