During the morning of August 7, 2010, we took our last Zodiac cruise while visiting the Liefdefjorden area of Albert I Land on the northwest side of Spitsbergen. Temperatures were in the 40's with sunny skies. First, we cruised near the Idabreen Glacier, followed by a cruise to the Monacobreen Glacier at the end of the fjord. Monacobreen was named in honor of Duke Albert I of Monaco whose expeditions mapped the glacier in 1906-1907. Brad took this photograph of Black Guillemot as it swam by our Zodiac.
