Isispynten (Nordaustlandet, Svalbard) is so named because it used to be a rocky point of land (glacial moraine) sticking out from the ice cap. However, the ice has receded in recent decades, and Isispynten (Isisøya) is now an island half a mile from the ice cap. When not cloaked in fog, the island provides a look at interesting fauna and geology along with an opportunity to do some bird watching. Since the area was covered with intermittent light to heavy fog, we took a Zodiac cruise around the area. Brad photographed the ice cap, the third largest in the world, from our Zodiac vantage point. Temperatures were in the low 30's.
