Our National Geographic Explorer guide and Zodiac driver seemed to be interested in the flora and garnet crystals in the rocks on the shore near the Idabreen Glacier. We spent limited time cruising along Monacobreen Glacier. Unfortunately for us, we didn't see the Ivory Gull that was seen by the rest of the VENT Group at Monacobreen. To make a long story short, thanks to Magnus, a National Geographic Explorer guide and Zodiac driver, Brad and I were able to make a second Zodiac cruise to Monacobreen to see and photograph the Ivory Gull shown in this photograph. Temperatures were in the 40's with partly cloudy skies.
