We were on the upper decks of our ship cruising in the Liefdefjorden area near Albert I Land on the northwest side of Spitsbergen when Brad took this closeup of a Kittiwake as it flew overhead. The face (out of focus) of the Monacobreen Glacier is in the background. Temperatures were in the 40's with sunny skies. Monacobreen was named in honor of Duke Albert I of Monaco whose expeditions mapped the glacier in 1906-1907.
