We made a Zodiac landing, our third, on the island of Lågøya during the morning of August 6, 2010. The weather was beautiful with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 60's. Unfortunately, the midges were out in full force. This photograph shows some classic Arctic scenery with a rocky/sandy beach dotted with driftwood and mountains on the horizon. Lågøya is one of the seven islands that make up the Sjuøyane archipelago, the most northerly part of Svalbard.
