After breakfast on August 7, 2010, we were sailing in the Liefdefjorden area near Albert I Land on the northwest side of Spitsbergen. Temperatures were in the 40's with sunny skies. This is a photo of some of the mountainous scenery fronted by the Idabreen glacier that we saw from the upper decks of our ship. Paul Seliger, a German surveyor who mapped this area in 1907, named the Idabreen Glacier for his wife.
