The National Geographic Explorer offers expedition cruising which allows passengers to access areas via Zodiac landings not available to larger ships. Typically, this type of cruise offers an open bridge policy. Brad and I were up on the bridge after dinner our first night aboard when we photographed the ship's LAT and LON readings. We were sailing west out of Longyearbyen along the Isfjorden. Temperatures were in the 40's with partly cloudy skies.
