We flew from Bergen to Oslo on Saturday, July 31, 2010, where we were met by the Lindblad Expedition Staff. From the airport we were bussed with other members of the Svalbard group to our hotel, the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, near the Royal Palace. We photographed this Tree Sparrow while walking through the Slottsparken, the castle park surrounding the Royal Palace. The Tree Sparrow has a dark cheek patch and a vinaceous reddish-brown colored crown. Temperatures were in the low 70's with partly cloudy skies.
