During the afternoon of May 18, 2010, Brad and I entered the Shenandoah National Park via the Swift Run Gap Entrance Station and were immediately engulfed in thick fog. We drove on to Big Meadows and stopped at the Byrd Visitor Center. Fortunately for us this area was bright and sunny. We watched, photographed and listened to several Chestnut-sided Warblers (this male was singing his heart out). It was very enjoyable. Temperatures varied from the 40's (foggy areas) to the 60's in the sun.
